Ruud, a former French Open finalist, overcame Francisco Cerundolo 6-4, 7-5 in Friday's semifinals. Though he took a medical timeout after just three games, the Norwegian battled on to victory. His deep run at the ATP 1000 event means he will return to the top-10 when the latest rankings are released on Monday.

In the other semifinal, Jack Draper defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 7-6 (4) to reach his second Masters final this season.
