Alicia Cerreto joined the History Council of Victoria as Deputy Executive Officer in May 2020. She was appointed Executive Officer and Secretary in December 2020.
Alicia is a professional historian with a focus on Australian community history. She is passionate about supporting the work of historians and advocating for the value of history. A graduate of the Master of Public History at Monash University, Alicia’s recent work includes commissioned histories for Berry Street, The Bridge and Travellers Aid Australia. She has also worked for Deakin and Monash Universities in philanthropy, and at the University of Melbourne Archives. Alicia was President of the Professional Historians Association (Victoria & Tasmania) from 2015 to 2020.
