Podcasting History

Two history podcasters will play and discuss recent history podcasts, and consider the nature, significance and impact of this burgeoning media for making and sharing histories.

Emma Lancaster is an award-winning multi-platform journalist and Executive Producer of two podcasts for the Australian Centre for Public History at the University of Technology Sydney: History Lab, an investigative Australian history podcast and GLAMcity, a weekly radio talk show hosted by historians about galleries, libraries, archives and museums in the Greater Sydney region.

Andrew J. May, Professor of History at the University of Melbourne, directs the Melbourne History Workshop, a studio-based research collaboratory that provides innovative and rigorously historical research, postgraduate training, industry collaboration and community-facing projects. Recent projects include the My Marvellous Melbourne podcast.

This seminar will be convened by Alistair Thomson from History at Monash University.
